It seemed clear to me that the sexual encounter between Lola and Paul was consensual unless that is unlawful and therefore statuatory rape since Lola is a minor. She is built as such a saucy girl and the chemistry between she and Paul is intense that it left little to the imagination. The book is equally clear on that point.
