I do agree with you both. I wonder why at the end of the book, he doesnīt explain anything (just her success as an artist) about Florence. With the pass of the time, the husband arrives to believe that their love could have been possible if he had been more patient, but we know thatīs impossible, because of Florenceīs abuse.
I love in the book how McEwan shows us alternativaly the two points of view
