I think some people are more pre-disposed to believing this sort of thing than others.

As a matter of fact, an 8 year old boy I have really got to like at school (who I believe is a Muslim - I know his uncle) came up to me and said his finger hurt. There was no obvious cause. Knowing that he can be a bit insecure and needs lots of attention, I said I would heal it. He held it up, I encirled it with my hands (not touching - you have to be so careful these days), closed my eyes, murmered a bit and then told him he was healed.

He agreed that he was and ran off happy.
