Gill
There have been some postings on here that have perhaps given the impression the jesus army is full of child abusers - it is not.
There have been cases of abuse in the church but as other people have said on here it is not our place to name and shame.
What I would ask you Gill is how child protection procedures are followed in the household you are attached to or in contact with. Are those who stay regularly in houses with children asked to provide a CRB check?
When I was in the church (about 6 years ago now)this was spoken about but never done on the grounds it would put people off joining. The fact the focus was on gaining household members rather than protecting children sums up the attitude of the church.
(I do not believe the CRB thing is a particularly good system, but it gives an indication of how genuine the JA are when it says it takes these things seriously).
