Dear ?? (name changed)

Given that Luton have just beaten Stevenage 0-1 I'm feeling slightly euphoric and cannot therefore be held entirely responsible for any irrational comments I might make!! (OK, I'll come clean! I've also had a glass or two of wine to celebrate!)

You'll notice that I've not posted on here very often over the years and it's because my priorities have been elsewhere (with no disrespect to the webmaster, whom I know personally and admire greatly - we are still in communication with one another).

All three of my children have now left home, and I've finished what has taken me very nearly a whole year in setting up the yes2wind website (www.yes2wind.com). Sometimes, I had to work through the night!!

So, yes, I'm not aware of all that has gone on. But what I DO know is that Barbara feels victimised! She is a very sensitive person who has been deeply hurt in the past and therefore takes things very personally.

If a public forum is set up, without any rules or guidelines (are there any?), then people are, presumably, free to post what they want to. Any 'angst' should be directed at Mike, the webmaster, not Barbara.

I have never met Barbara personally, and I know that it might be very frustrating to hear all of the things she has to often say about child abuse etc. on THIS website. But, please, (anon (2)), she was a "pindown kid"!! In MY book, she can say more or less what she wants to and I'm not going to have a dig at her - unless she's said something abusive.

This forum, by definition, will attract people who have been deeply hurt. If we, as outsiders to the JA, can't tolerate them and give them slack, then all we're doing is proving what the JA are trying to say..."come and join US, WE'LL accept you".

I, too, on the Jeanni website, have been deluged with people who have been hurt and who would like to have taken up ALL of the space I had available. Some how or another I've had to tread a fine balancing act and make it clear to them that they cannot monopolise my time and space in the way that they want to.

BUT, and here's the big but, a PUBLIC forum is very different...it's open to everyone. So long as the JA Watch forum remains a public forum open to everyone (the JA Blues isn't - it has set out its 'terms of reference'), then everyone has a 'right' to say what they want to on it.

All I'm asking, therefore, is that you prove to the JA that those of us outside of the organisation are tolerant of one another and are able to accept each and everyone, even if they are come from the 'hurt' sector of our hurting society. If not, then the JA will remain a recruiting ground for such people!

Does all of this make sense? (If not, blame it on the wine...not me!!! - it's not often Luton Town do so well!)

J

PS If you'd like to communicate with me personally, then please do so at either john.everett@jeanni.org or john.everett1@btineternet.com. Or call me on 07886 723535.

Right! Off to a 50th. birthday party for the first time ever!
