That is all very encouraging, thanks.

Maybe I was being a bit defensive. I know I come across as big-headed, opinionated, pushy, bossy, arrogant and conceited...and that isn't really a totally unfair assessment.

But I think if I hadn't been a bit of all those things I would have folded when I went up against the JA back in the days when there were very few of us doing it and when the JA were most aggressive in their defense...issuing legal threats, accusing us of all sorts of very nasty things in the press etc. I hope that people who even now protect their identities with aliases can appreciate that when I post I put my neck on the block by doing it in my own name (and that isn't a dig at you or anyone else. I respect people's privacy)

I am delighted that people like you are here and can hold your own. I don't want people to get defensive when I disagree with them, but to be willing to stand their ground. It isn't a fight, it should be a discussion.

I think sometimes I do run the show, in the absence of a moderator. But I do not have any of the powers of a moderator. I can't gag or delete people. I can only put my point of view.

I would dearly love to back off (if I wasn't a bit obsessive compulsive) but need to know that if I do so, this site won't please the JA by dying. And when most posters are either rather shy or make a point of only lurking (or have non-JA related agendas to promote) I feel the need to stick in there.

Thanks very much for being fair. It is appreciated.
