I agree with you on the first point, people ought not to shun their own personal responsibility.

But re-reading the rest of it, I suddenly thought about Jesus. He put Himself under the authority of the Father, didn't He? And I think that the birth of the Church was pretty revelutionary!

People are always very quick to point out the failings of the Church, but it's good to remember that if there were no Church neither would there have ever been any hospitals, schools, libraries or hotels in this country!
