Billy, you sound really cool. But there is one part of what you are saying which doesn't add up for me, which is that you recognise that the problem of the JA is its ego (the fact that, as Rufus said, remarkably, it became a prison for the mind), the fact that the leaders were spiritually confused and that Noel was second only to Jesus etc...

. . . and yet you believe that Noel built a sound foundation for what you want to build now.

You admit that Noel would turn in his grave if he knew what you have planned for the JA. That is because from the very start and from the bottom up it is built on his values...which were all about control, which makes the recent involvement of Quakers bizarre, because they are the least controlling of all Protestants.

It seems to me rather than building on Noel's foundation, you need to rip it up and dig the ground over and start again. You can't do any of this with people like Mick Temperate in charge and John Campbell running your PR. Authoritarianism, denial and t he "cast not your pearls before swine" mentality are not a good basis for openness.
