Where have the real changes been made, when this is still the prevailing attitude?
You mentioning talking to a leader about how you felt reminded me of when, instead of daring to tell Mick, who I knew would make me feel that I was the problem, I shared my heart with a bro' on a long drive, where it was just the two of us in the car.
It was a great outpouring for both of us.....hugely encouraging to know that others felt like me
but then, next agapé he goes and feels guilty, confesses to everyone, blubs his heart out and then....NAMES ME! So then a succession of brothers come begging me to throw myself on the mercy of the Lord, including this two-faced brother who betrayed me.
I can't remember if I caved in (I suppose I must have done eventually) but one thing is for sure, I learnt a huge lesson....that your closest friends and brethren were not people you could trust with your innermost feelings.
I won't name the weasel, but you might know him as a lawyer and the guy responsible for Multiply, before he gave up his celibacy, left and married in South Africa.
