I can accept that you and your friends never used a wooden spoon but I find it hard to understand why you were unaware that this was church teaching. It was definately JA teaching and was not just a generational thing. Parents I knew who were in their 20's threatened their kids with wooden spoons and used them. And they were doing this because of what they had been taught in the JA - it wasn't something they had always done and others on here have testified to this. It may have changed now, because of new laws but this was the teaching in the past. It's funny how you are so quick to assume Noel is not talking literally on the video when you have not seen it - sorry if this offends you but you do seem to be a little over-defensive about this.
