I agree - it is not like living with mates because the relationship you have with the people there is very different to the normal kind of relationship people have with their mates. The heirarchical nature of rhe relationships in community is not normal amongst friends. It is also abnormal for mates to place conditions upon their 'friendship' like membership of a particular church group.
