Your school system sounds quite different from ours. Are the places so limited there a drawing is needed to see who gets in? Or were the "rounds" to determine something like a scholarship?

It has been very quiet in here lately. I guess half our residents are on vacation, and the other half are suffering from the winter doldrums. Or, you know, they have lives! *s* Maybe we need a quiz to draw the lurkers out of the shadows.

1. What special occasion is next on your calendar?
It's girl-child's 16th birthday next week. I spent part of yesterday searching for pink wrapping paper. I'm going for a theme, but I'm already sure the number of shades of pink will become very annoying before I'm through. *g*

2. Do you have a winter/summer project this year, and have you actually started it?
I desperately need to clean out my bedroom closet. I did make a start but haven't been able to get back to it yet. Want to come over and help? *hopeful look*

3. Which current TV show has caused you to have a "Buffy moment" (ie: I've got a theory!)?
Well, I've been catching up on Lost, and I think * the polar bear was actually the dog. Unfortunately, I've missed more than a few episodes, so I can't theorize in depth on any other aspect of the show. Does anyone care to guess what the "Lostasaurus" really is?*

4. Have you kept your New Year's resolutions?
I didn't make a traditional list. The one thing I was determined to do this year was keep myself from being sucked in to the vortex that is my family's craziness. I'm still struggling in that battle, but I did manage to tell my youngest brother "I'm busy - I've got to go now" when he called yesterday to bitca and moan about money.
