Guruji said there was a 3 fold significance to all scriptures. But if you read Lahiri he focuses on the kriya side of it, which I like, and Yukteswar and Yogananda build on it.

The last supper Jesus had was actually a fairly traditional passover feast. Jews break bread and wine and pass them 4 times, dip the bread--its understandable what Jesus did if you know this. Only this time Jesus washed their feet instead of everyone washing their hands. I think he took karma on by doing this, as well as demonstrated humility, and I'm sure it has a kriya reference to it also. At the end he omitted the traditional lamb roast, and said he himself was the lamb. I read the Jewish people sing the same psalms they likely sang at the occasion, psalms 115--118, among others. These are really good psalms.

Regardless, the passover celebrates the release from captivity of the Jews, which we know is in esse a release that happens in the spiritual eye and beyond.
All this happens within Jurusalem, which no doubt could be equated to kutasta.

The anointing of oil was one of the early sacraments that was after water baptism. As I understand it, the water was a purifying thing and the oil was more of an empowering thing you got later on. I think the Catholics have this as part of their death rites now--extreme unction. There is no doubt Jesus taught the Om technique and you got shakti on this oil annointing deal and were supposed to hear om and have siddis at the baptism. Born again people still believe it happens, though I know it almost never does. They are drunken withg emotions. See, Dr. Lewis said you have to penetrate the star in kutasta and you get the power to transmit it to others. As to whether thats the minimum mark one has to pass to be a yogacharya in traditional kriya, I'm not sure.

Radha soami claims Jesus was in their tradition of Shurat Shabad yoga. If you read the "essene gospel of peace volume 1" by Szekely, in the back you read of Jesus very directly teaching on the holy vibration (or streams he calls them). They are lifeforce, sound and light. I'm not sure of the authenticity of the text. I'm not so sure they did a kriya technique directly, but the effects were there.

Swami Rama said he met a Christian sadhu in the Himalayas that really knew the inner teachings. This guy taught there were 3 essential books to the bible that represented 3 stages. Psalms, Sermon on the Mount, and Relevation. These may be seen as beginner, intermediate and advanced. To me the Sermon is very Vedantic and Revelation is pure kundalini/tantra/kriya yoga.

It may look foolish to be interpreting these things in the light of kriya constantly, but I am of the opinion that the kundalini has to be awakened and the bindu in the kutasta penetrated. Some don't stress it, but some such as Yogananda, Sivananda, Vikeananda certainly do.
