The point is that in all of the passages you quote, reference is being made to the physiological conditions which exist in a deep state of meditation. The unblinking condition, like the breathless state, is a physical accompaniment to a certain conscious state. It does not mean that the yogi who has reached that state will never blink again when he is not meditating. Saranam however seems to interpret it this way.

Saranam claims to have achieved the blinkless state. This should be a fairly simple matter to prove, if he is available for observation.

If Saranam's claims are correct what are we to make of the fact that Yogananda can be seen to blink in archive footage? Presumably we would have to accept that Saranam had reached a higher state than Yogananda.
