I have been browsing here today. Yes, Amrita and I are cooperating to bring into print all the early important work of Yogananda, Nerode, Dhirananda, and others, primarily before 1935, along with a clear politically and religiously neutral account of the history of ideas and techniques and their promulgation. I just happen to have inherited many of the required source materials. This period was a truly wonderful outpouring of Eastern wisdom to the West.

On another topic, when I have spoken to Shibendu, I have heard the pure teachings of his illustrious great grandfather exposited with grace and understanding based on the insight of someone who spent full life as a householder. That is a pleasure. Yoga teaching has attracted many without life experience, many who have not married, have not raised children to adulthood, have not dealt with the problems of making a living in the external world. He and his ancestors did all these things and recommended them highly. He was told by his Yogi father to pursue a profession, he got his degree in mathematics and statistics and was a professional demographer. He had two grown daughters and one grown son, his wife died a few years ago. He resides in the family Ashram and temple in the Holy Old City of Benares, and travels once or twice a year througout the world on tours arranged by local sponsors who know him and respect him. Amrita was the Dallas sponsor for some of these tours, but not this year. But he and I both dropped by Amrita last weekend for a couple of days while he was on tour. I really enjoyed his company. Many Yoga organizations have welcomed him and benefitted from the pure form of his great grandfather's teachings. I have to add that these teachings coincide almost completely with my own understanding and my own 68 years of Kriya (from age 2). He is the real thing. But don't expect publicity and salesmanship from him. Like the rest of his illustrious lineage, I understand that he believes those things attract people who are seeking illusion rather than self-realization. He expresses profound gratitude to Yogananda for bringing the teachings of his lineage from a small Ashram to the whole world.

My best to all!
