Yes, but if we accept the thesis that all our experiences are based on our senses and other physical means does there remain any ultimate significance in meditation at all? Is it worth more than buying a record? If the only really big thing that can be attained by meditation is withdrawing the consciousness from sense objects to a sort of nothingness, where is the difference to physical death when the body falls apart and only nothingness remains?

I read something of U.G. Krishnamurti lately; he claims to have attained Nirvikalpa Samadhi. Indeed his report on physiological changes of his body he describes resemble similar reports of other yogis. But UGK said all what happened to him was a result of mere biological changes to his body; why they happened to him he does not know.

If we are just a compound of tissue, and even the present-day yogis consider most or all spiritual concepts as holy lies (some forget the concepts of rebirth and liberation), I do not see where is the need of practing yoga except for gaining temporal feelings of bliss or peace. It also has to be added that meditation does not at all brings automatic positive results, some profit from it, for others it may be the sure road to suicide.

So what is yoga good for except entertaining the practicioners? Even the enlightened ones will perish in the end and nothing will be left.
