I have long observed that the traditional kriya of Lahiri is vedantic and has little outward bakti. Hence, the avatar is not a concern or even mentioned. I myself am a Christian by birth so it is normnal to think of avatara. However, as I progress in kriya I think of it less and less. Yogananda told Doctor Lewis "center on the Light. That light you see is greater than I, it is God himself." This was when Doctor wanted to move to L.A. to be near Master prematurely. Still, he did visit 2x a year and this was important.
