Keep the spine always erect and keep the focus on your agna chakra (a midway a point between the eyebrows) if you lower your eyesight below this point, then you may fall asleep- this is the realm of the subsconcious mind.

Don't practice concentration in bed unless you are into yoga Nidra. and have plenty of fresh air before engaging in the sadhana practice. Expand your lungs, so to speak.
