I have had similar problems. Try meditating on a bed cross legged. This will double the time your feet can stand it. Also do some stretches. There is a video tape out called hatha yoga for meditators by John Friend-- I think. It is all to get you ready. I like the SRF routine because you do hongsau and om, then you do mahamudra and it stops the numbness in the legs. Then comes kriya. If you don't have kriya then when the legs get numb just do the head to knees stretch with your legs out in front of you on the floor a few times. Get back in meditation posture asap. Do not let the prana go out. Still bothered? resort to a chair--it works well when you are already within.
