Islam.

I have been questioning much about this religion for some time. Frankly speaking, i do not believe Islam to be a true path to God - as it offers no recipe for self-realisation, and the great benefits of the religion are unknown to the majority of muslims who only remember one thing: violence.

I am not stereotyping or generalising. Mot muslims away from western society believe two things above all else:

1) There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger (all other ideas of God are false and every prophet before or after Muhammad was either false as well or was not a "true" prophet and did not give God's true message. Muhammad called himself the "seal of the prophets" and claimed all prophets before him including jesus became "corrupted" and diluted the true message of God)

2) All those who are not muslim must be converted or killed. To striek a friendship with a non muslim is forbidden and an evil. To kill a "kaffir" (lit. non-believer) or to convert him reaps rewards.

From an outside view, Islam affords me no promise of anything other than sense enjoyment as it's goal. Why should i aspire to live in "jannat" (heaven) where i get to have sex with loads of virgins who are my slaves? Most religions of the yogic tendency teach us to overcome these kind of desires and tendencies before everything else!

I am not belittling a religion of a billion people. My Lord forgive me for any ignorance - but being truthful and honest, islam echoes in most people's minds fanaticism, violence and enmity if you do not belong to it.

I am quite weary with my opinion of Muhammad - how many saints do you know who had countless wives (including a child of 5) and endless sex AFTER attaining to God (apparently)?? How many saints advocated war above all else (completely the opposite of Lord Krishna)?

The funny thing is, Muhammad used to meditate in a cave, and that is when on the "night of power" (lailat-al-qadr) he apparently ganined enlightenment/word of God.

Why the stark contrast between his way and the way of his followers?

Islam will go through a major reform in the coming times. It is definite.
