"It's incredible to see someone in the sunset of their life starting such a fantastic project, when they could just retire somewhere."

No not really! History is full of those who remained defiant till the end. It is not a sign of spirituality, and Mr Walters' energy and organisational ability is not in dispute.

Perhaps the real question is what Walters is seeking from his latest project. Those who are genuinely seeking the inner treasure do not value organisational achievements.

The claim sometimes made that those who have spiritual wealth feel the need to share it is simply untrue (in my opinion), and is something typically said by born-again Christians who have a desire to patronise others. Those who have genuinely tasted and seek inner communion regard external distractions as undesirable and avoid them. This is the reason spiritual people often seek solitude in later life.

I'm not disputing that there are those who are genuinely selected for large works in this world. I believe Yogananda was one. However there are also those who seek admiration and wordly acclaim.
