Attainment of Paravastha is VASTLY more important then attainment of any particular Kriya technique. Attainment of Paravastha is the purpose of all the Kriya techniques. Read the Garland of Letters on the Yoganiketan web site. Lahiri advises over and over for individuals to stop doing any Kriya (during a meditation session) once Tranquility (i.e. paravastha) is experienced.

Dear seeker, you are confusing ends (tranquility) with means (kechari). Here is the actual quote:

"108. All realization is possible by the practice of the First Kriya. One is required to practice strictly according to the instructions received from one's Guru personally."
