Subject: Growing fat by inhaling rich air

Some months ago I watched an interesting report on TV. It was one of those extremely long and quiet TV features that run on the Bavarian station on Sunday mornings. The greatest part covered the life of Therese Neumann, but it also dealt with several other stigmatized people, one was a young girl from Portugal who lived in the middle of the 20th century.

I do not remember all the details here, but what was being told was absolutely sensational.

Therese Neumann was an uneducated peasant's daughter, but during her ecstatic states spoke in languages she didn't know. She had visions of her favorite Catholic saints from France and Spain and in their supposed presence could quote their writings in the original language.

She also identified with Jesus at times and then spoke in Aramaic. A leading expert in old languages went to see her and confirmed that it was really Aramaic. The interesting thing was that although generally her accounts of Jesus' life were in tune with the accounts of the Gospels, there were some minor differences, but the difference were of such a nature as if the known Bible texts at some places appeared to be wrong translations of what originally may have been said. Knowledge of the subtleties of Aramaic phrases are necessary to change the meaning of the words the way she did. This professor was absolutely dumbfounded; another arch-sceptic, an editor of a big newspaper converted to Catholicism after meeting her. Unfortunately this man was later sent to a concentration camp by the Nazis.

Then this Portuguese girl! She had been under strict surveillance in a hospital for weeks, did not eat, did not even drink, but she didn't lose weight although profusely bleeding. On the contrary she even gained some weight. In spite of her not drinking anything she experienced no shortage of bodily fluids, like saliva, and felt alright.

Some physicians tried to explain this phenomenon with the "rich quality" of fresh air. Hardly an explanation.

How is it possible to gain weight when you eat nothing and even lose blood?

Suppose this was no fraud, how can such a thing be possible?

P.S. According to Therese, Jesus' last words were not recorded correctly - he did not say, "It is finished" but rather something like, "I have fulfilled my task".

Don't know the exact wording; perhaps there is something on the Internet.
