I'm sorry but I deleted my earlier post by mistake. I had intended to delete a post which was just asking me to e-mail someone, and I must have ticked another box by mistake.

Is the Walrus website truly run by Ananda?

I suspected so, but didn't know for sure. Do you know for sure?

No, I don't and I didn't mean to imply that. Some of us started calling it Ananda-Walrus as that seemed to be a better description of the aims of some people there.

I have no idea who runs the site nor who most of the people posting there are. Apart from checking out a couple of links when people have posted them on this board I have not even visited the site for six months or so.

There are two things which make me suspicious that Ananda members had some involvement with the site.

1. Just before the Walrus board started our resident Ananda poster here made a remark about a large number of monastics having left SRF. He then went on to make a remark to the effect of: "something is planned in respect of this, but I cannot say too much at present." Shortly afterwards the Walrus site came into existence. I have searched thoroughly for this remark in the archives by cannot find it. It was made at a time of some heavy arguing here, and I did not save some of the more aggressive posts.

2. The site seemed to be opened and straight away have many members, most of whom we did not know from other boards. This is very unusual for messageboards, when this board started most of us knew each other from previous boards, new contributers came slowly.
