Subject: Vallalar site updated

The web site vallalar.org about the Tamilian yogi-poet Swami Ramalingam, now also known as Vallalar, has been enlarged and a comprehensive English book section added.

For instance, they have the comprehensive anthology of Ramalinga's poems Pathway to God Trod by Saint Ramalingar ready for download. I was looking for that book for several years but never was able to get hold of a copy. I am suprised and delighted that the introduction of that book is penned by the Benedictine monk Bede Griffiths, a man I much admire; I am just reading a bio on Bede Griffiths titled Beyond the Darkness, a useful book.

The downloadable book listed near the bottom of the list, by Thulasiram, is not complete in its original format as yet. This work consists of two volumes of which the second constitutes another comprehensive selection of Vallalar's poetry, about 800 pages with comments by Thulasiram.

Blessed are those who can read his poetry in the original Tamil (his complete works have been issued in two different editions) and that of Tagore in the original Bengali.

My Teacher! I bow to Thee in awe and reverence.

Whilst I am daily singing Thy Divine Songs-songs full of honeyed sweetness, I wholly forget myself.

Is it only the tongue that sings?

No. Never, never the tongue alone!

My whole frame sings.

My whole mind sings.

My whole life sings.

Indeed, the godly life within me also sings.

This is what happens to me, O my Teacher magnificent, whilst I am daily singing Thy
divine songs-songs full of honeyed sweetness.

I bow to Thee in awe and reverence, O my Teacher full of Compassion all Thine own!
