Yes, of course, kechari must be practiced without force. But this is already understood by most, I believe. It is very clear.

However, do we understand how he taught to acheive naturally? See, this is where I see much contention from different sources.

Thinking that just turning the tongue back to the uvula and waiting for something to happen is not how it was taught, do you think?? If you look at letter 94, you see he is describing the tongue after it is already behind uvula, if the two holes are being mentioned, isnt it?

Shivanth, do you practice kechari mudra? What do you feel when the tongue goes up into the hole behind the uvula? He is speaking as if the tongue is up in the hole ready to go beyond the two holes. You see what he is saying here:

"There is a sticking point above the holes in the nose and it will go beyond that - gradually. Don't force it; if you do so you can injure yourself. It will do its work after higher Kriya."

Shivanth, do you know what this means? Do you know what he means by work of higher kriya? --He is saying dont force it, let the work of higher kriya take it up.-- See, if you dont know what he(Lahiri Mahasays) really means by higher kriya, then all is a guess. Obviously he considered it important to do, he seems to indicate higher kriya when practiced correctly, takes the tongue higher...but how??? See?? We dont know..lets admit it. Ok?

I confess, I DO NOT KNOW. But it seems to me that you are conjecturing a lot...to put yourself at ease about kechari and its attainment. People worry about-- should you have to do it or not--. It is amusing to watch all this discussion about kechari. People seem to have a worrisome attitude about it.
It is "clear" that it is not clearly understood.
