Notice that anyone who has the ring, and holds it while wishing for something has that wish come true? (With the exception of Jamal wishing to not be a Vampire, which didn't work).
Well now, that makes me wonder if when Lucy wished out loud with JAMAL in the room right next to her, that Kevin would snap back into his older, kinder self....and then in that instant Kevin miraculously DID become his old self in that moment, was it because Lucy made that wish near Jamal who was carrying the ring in his pocket?
How else would the wish come true so spontaneously, and abruptly like that...it was like a miracle, it was so unlikely for Kevin to suddenly flip back to a nice, unpsychotic person! It had to be the ring--but LUCY was the one making the wish, JAMAL was the one with the ring standing next to her in her house.
