Subject: Pros using 1 Irons

I'm still looking for specific PGA (or LPGA)Pro names using equal length shafts. I don't want to seem argumentative, but golfers I talk too all say if the equal length shafts worked, you would see pros using them. Just want to help convince myself to pull the trigger on ordering these 1Irons. Anyone out there have inside info with names? Did anyone notice player bags at the PGA Championship this weekend? Any equal length shaft sets?

There is no way anybody is going to stick their neck out and name pros who appear to be playing single length irons on tour even though it's very obvious they do - just look at their bags. Lot's of people have asked David Lake this same question on this forum in the past and he adamantly refuses to answer because 1 Iron Golf refuses to pay endorsement fees to pros. I'll name you any of the pros prior to the mid 30's cause every one of them used single length irons. A couple of them are mentioned by name on the FAQ page of their website.

What difference does it make anyway? The clubs the pros play have nothing in common with the brand name on their clubs and the ones you buy in the store. If single length clubs make you a better golfer then who cares what the pros play.

I agree with both of your responses. It's just that the single length concept is so contrary to conventional thought that it always helps to validate with knowing pros who think something has got such merit that they would try it, since they make a living doing it (Just like metal woods, perimeter weighted irons, graphite shafted drivers, etc.). I fully understand David Lakes reluctance to divulge personal information of pros he has assisted. Fred, you indicated that you have seen pros bags with club sets that were equal length. Would you share the names of the pros who's bags looked like they had equal shafted clubs.

Excellent response to a very common Question. Besides if you were as good as the Pros you would probably not be on this website looking for ways to improve your game. Although I think even the best ballstrikers in the word would benefit from single length and identical swingwieght throughout there irons and woods.
