Hi Kent,
I have not found any significant difference in hitting various brands of balls.
I've played Pro-V1, Pro-V1x, NXT, NXT tour, Bridgestone 330, Nike 1...all with no discernable difference. I know there are those that claim that one is better than another, but as a 3 index player I honestly don't think it makes much difference. Certainly there would be a difference if I were playing a really hard distance ball like Pinacle Gold or some such thing, but I'd say unless you are a tour professional you can be pretty confident of consistency with any of the quality golf balls.

Kent:

I've played various balls as well, and haven't noticed a dicernable difference. I'm playing the Nike Power Distance soft currently. It's a cheap ball and I stop it generally withing two feet and many times within 6 inches of my pitch mark. The reason I chose this ball is because of a consumer reports article on golf balls. It rated both high priced and inexpensive balls highly on the main charactaristics most golfers site as important. I've never been one to buy into the hype about golf balls, and I have great results with the Nike. Good luck.
