Ron,

Do you have the 1 Iron 3 wood? I didn't last year, but I bought one at the end of last year.

Anyway . . . I hit an Adams 3 wood last year and there was a 15 yard gap between my 3 wood (225 yds net distance) and my 3 iron (210 yds net distance) (1 Iron of course). My Adams was a 16 degree 3 wood, which is the same loft as my new, yet untested 1 Iron 3 wood. I expect to see similar length with my new 3 wood with a little more accuracy.

Don't forget the lofts of your 1 Iron clubs have consistent degrees of angle differences. This is almost never true with conventional clubs. The problem are wondering about is one of the best reasons to own 1 Irons, because distance gap issues are virtually eliminated.

Good choice on your irons. I hope this helps.

Michael

An alternate solution for you might be to drop the 3i and add a 5w if that splits the difference between you 3w and 4i better. Personally, I would drop one of the wedges, (LW or GW).
