David,

I talked to you about the 30-day refund policy for the driver I just ordered. It arrived yesterday and I carefully taped the head to prevent any scratches so that when I sent it back it would be in perfect condition...... To make a long story short, I will not be sending it back. You could not pry it away from me with the jaws of life. Check this out:

1. I did not try to change my setup or swing at all. Just used my old setup and swing.
2. Straight drives on the range during warm-up, then I went out on the course in the evening.
3. Straight drives that were about the same length as my best drives with my old driver.
4. After the first nine holes, I started to take full swings just to see what would happen.
5. I hit several straight drives through the dogleg of fairways that I used to have trouble reaching.
6. Then, and this was the capper, I FLEW the bunkers that I usually cannot reach on the last two holes that I played. The last drive being the longest, straightest drive I have ever hit in my life.

I got in my cart and out of there before I was tempted to start swinging out of my shoes in an attempt to better that last drive.

Thanks, you were right about that driver.

Walt

I was just as amazed as you when I got my 1-Iron driver. My buddies all wanted to know my secret.

I am interested to read your comments about the Driver. I am looking to convert to 1 Irons in the new year (travelling too much before to do new clubs justice!), my concern with the driver is the high face loft (12 degrees) we used to call that a 1 1/2 wood in the old days. Pros hit 7 - 9 & most store stock drivers are 10.5, I cannot see how a 12 could outdrive a 10.5

Vince,

Our driver is designed to be played using a center of stance ball position. When you use a forward ball position, as you do with conventional drivers, you are effectively increasing the loft angle. Consequently, our driver has a 12º loft angle at impact whereas a 7.5º driver has an effective loft angle of 12º to 13º at impact.

There is a great risk/reward short par 4 on a course that I play. There is a carry over water that demands a long carry over water.

I have never gone for it, because I like to play the percentages to preserve my round as this is the #17 hole.

However, last week I gave it a rip with my driver. The ball was crushed easily clearing the water ending up in the fringe pin high.

I missed the eagle, but tapped in for the easiest birdie you could ever hope for.

I admire my 1 Iron driver for its accuracy and length. The only reason I would ever get a new driver would be to replace my current one with an exact copy should it break.

Michael
