Subject: Wedge Length

Assuming that a 1 Iron wedge has a shaft length that is the same as a 3 iron; I just can't figure out how one can achieve any "feel" with regard to those delicate soft shots, fairly close to the green?
Also, if the shaft length is the same for all irons, doesn't the swingweight change progressionally, with each club, from 3 iron to wedge?
Am I misinterupting something?
Thanks,
Bob W

Bob,

Swingweight and Moment-of-Inertia (MOI), is identical throughout a set of 1 Irons for the simple reason that all of the iron clubheads weigh exactly the same and are shafted exactly the same.

Generally speaking, there is only a 1" difference in club length between a properly fitted conventional wedge and a 1 Iron wedge. Consequently, based soley on club length, you would experience no loss of "feel" in the wedges. Additionally, due to the way we shaft our irons (using our proprietary Shaft Optimization Process), you would actually experience a greater degree of "feel" throughout the entire set of 1 Irons.
