David, thanks for the reply and encouragement. I certainly believe in the system and am committed to working with it. I love the clubs and i agree with you in that I have a lot of stuff to relearn and let go of to get the most from my 1 irons. As with most of us amatuers we want it to happen yesterday and get frustrated that we have to practice and take the time necesary. Thanks again.
Regards,
Mark

Mark:

If it's any encouragement; I hit all my 1Iron clubs high, including the driver. My distance on the driver is relatively equal to that of any other driver I've ever owned. The difference is in accuracy. I've never hit a driver anywhere near as accurately as David's. I'm closing in on 90% of fairways on a regular basis which for me is astounding. My misses are much better as well. That stat alone is so helpful to the rest of my game. I could always get down the fairway pretty well, but to be IN the fairway this much is everything. I have trouble getting the irons not to fly high, so don't sweat it; it's definitely possible. I use a single-axis swing, by the way. Keep hitting the clubs and you will increase your ability with them, I'm sure. Just be a little patient, and good luck.

Thanks Jimblob, I feel part of my problem may have been the fact that I was driving through on the down swing, an old habit from forward ball position, and delofting the club while also leaving it open a bit. By sticking with the playability tips and rereading the book I think I am on the way. Hit some beautiful high and straight 3/4 irons yesterday, will work with the driver and 3w today.
thanks

Hi mark, somewhere I read that 1iron clubs have a higher ball flight, I think it was the kick point in the shaft. When I first got davids clubs, my distance went down slightly, but ball flight was much higher. Distance is now a little more, but since ball flight is higher, its actually almost a club more distance if that makes sense. I hit an 8 iron on a par 3 we have, and everybody thinks I am hitting my pitching wedge. Once you get used to your clubs, and gain confidence, there is nothing quite like it,,,good luck ed

Thanks Ed, I must admit I am still struggling with the driver and 3w, I think I am trying to hard, need to relax and swing smoothly rather than the hit it hard feeling I think is happening trying to make it work. A work in progress. I know from the many testimonials on here that it will happen, just need to give it time.
