I don't think that you quite get the idea of their balanced shaft concept. I've been playing 1 Irons for a couple of years and my distances have increased across the board. I prefer stiff flex shafts and my 1 Irons are perfect for me. By the same token my wife plays 1 Irons and she says the flex is perfect for her also. Don't forget that Jaacob Bowden who is a long drive champ and who plays on the PGA European Tour plays 1 Irons and he has nothing but praise for the concept and their balanced shafting method - this is from his postings on his Swingman Golf website.

Donald, I must have missed that in my reading. Thanks.

Richard,
I ran an extensive thread about 6 months ago about my experience with the 1 iron system. When I got the irons in January, I had been hovering for the past couple years around a 2-4 Index. This month I am a 1.8 trending to a 1.3. I am 49 and intend on finishing my golfing life with Davids clubs. As for shafts, "forget about it" I have 7 sets of Hogans in my garage with various shafts. #4 and #5 flex, Rifle and 400 shafts. The 1 irons have better feel and more consistent flex characteristicts than any of my Hogans. All of my friends who have tried them on the range have the same comment, "wow, those feel nice" Just measure yourself, buy a set, and be committed to spending some time on the range "adapting" to the simplicity of a single set up and swing plane. Cheers
