I have played with a 1iron golf set 3-GW for about 4 rounds and numerous trips to the range,
and I must say that these clubs, when chipping rolls a lot less then conventional clubs.
Chipping with a Pitching wedge runs only half the distance that I expected to,
so there is a learning curve, especially chipping when you need the ball to roll a certain distance I find that I have to use 2 clubs more to run the distance like my old clubs
which have similar lofts.
And, when I don't choke down as David suggests, the ball goes even higher.
I have been playing golf for 30 years and currently playing to an 8 handicap and believe that I have a sound short game.
