Hello, I have worked with many strong players, I teach and also build clubs, Some ideas that may help. practice back swing to 7 "O" clock and 9 "O" clock, also open the faces of the wedge to creat a cut shot or fade to reduce distance, I never hit a straight wedge into a green its almost always a small fade or cut it will reduce your distance a bit. If I draw the ball with a wedge its a bad swing on my part.

By the way I think that most wedges the flex are way to stiff, They need to be softer regardless of how strong you are., you almost never see good players take an all out swing with the wedge, so there is no need to make them stiff or the same flex as the irons.

Use bigger grips than you think you need for wedges, I played last year with several mini tour players, and in those times I stand back and absorb as much as possible.

I asked why are the grips so much bigger in the wedges than the irons and woods, the answer is for the up most control. After I tried this I never played so well with my wedges. Good luck peter
