Subject: the new 1-iron woods

My game has not progressed since selling my original 1-irons, I had 3 rounds in the 90's 2 yrs ago, and haven't been out of double bogey since, even though my instructor says that I should be playing in the 80's. My game does not translate from driving range to golf course. I thinking about getting a set of woods:3,5,7,9,& 11 along with the Ti driver. I plan to keep my 1-iron wedges and my 7,8,9, Wedgewoods, they are great for getting out of the rough. Now, what is the set up for the woods??? Center stance??? My difficulty is playing these mountain coursed, what is the set up below and above your feet, also on a down slope and on an up slope, and finally what is the suggested position of the driver at address.
I WANT TO GO BACK TO THE ONE POSITION SET UP!!!

Sorry about being long winded!

Jim

Jim,

The ball is played in the center of your stance with all 1 Iron Golf fairway woods regardless of the lie. On an uphill or downhill lie it is important to shift your body angle in relation to the lie. Obviously, an uphill lie will result in a higher trajectory and less distance, whereas a downhill lie will produce just the opposite. A side hill lie will require you to either choke down on the club and aim a little right (facing uphill), or squatting down and leaning forward a bit while aiming a little left (facing downhill). The driver should be played off the left heel in a shoulder width stance. Tee it high and let it fly.

David,

Thanks for the reply!!! I know you have a special on a group of the woods, but I would like to get them all. Send me an e-mail with a price including the Titanium Driver. If you have returned (used) clubs I will be interested,. It would help to reduce the cost and the wife won't be too upset.

Jim
