Subject: Don't understand

Maybe I'm just slow to understand, but I've been using the 1 Iron Golf clubs for the past two years and my scores have gone down by an average of 20 strokes. They are the best golf clubs that I have ever hit in my life. Because of my improvement a number of my golfing buddies are also playing 1 Iron Golf clubs and seeing big improvements in their games. I even met a guy at a business lunch the other day who plays these clubs and he was just as thrilled as me. So I don't understand - why dose'nt every golfer switch to 1 Iron Golf clubs? Every time I read posts on the different golf forums where someone claims that distances will be off, etc. I just laugh. I guess that you simply have to play these clubs in order to believe the truth.

Cal,

Good point. It is interesting to note that golf is the only sport that does not embrace change. Average scoring on the pro tours has improved very little over the past fifty years although equipment technology has improved dramatically. The mind-set of the golfer has to change in order to keep pace with the constant improvement level of other sports. For instance, Olympic athletes such as Jim Thorpe would not be able to compete at the college level or indeed many of the high school levels of today. This is a result of improved technique over the years. Other sports accept technique changes without hesitation while golf is mired in years of "this is how it has always been done".

I ordered a set of 1 Iron Golf irons last spring to try out because David Lake's concept made so much sense. My friends told me that they would never work because if the concept was valid all of the golf companies would make sets of irons like this and I admit that I was doubtful. My doubts disappeared during the first trip to the range when I crushed each and every shot from the 3 iron on down. I have been playing to a 7 handicap for the past ten years but since I switched to these irons my handicap is now 2. Three of my "doubting Thomas" friends have also switched to 1 Iron Golf clubs and their handicaps have also gone down. I have since filled in my original set of irons with the Gap, Sand, and Lob wedges and have purchased the 3-wood which hits like a dream. All in all, these clubs perform better than I could have ever imagined.

From my experience any golfer who switches to 1-Iron Golf clubs will start shooting lower scores.
