Putting and chipping are very individualistic in that they are truly "feel" shots. I believe that whatever method feels the most comfortable is the one to use. Personally, I prefer a wrist putting method using an upright posture and open stance. For chipping I use the same posture and open stance but do not use my wrists. I will say that I always use the same iron when chipping. Using different irons for every chip shot would be like using different putters on every green.
