Subject: Headed to the driving range

I just got my 3-PW and am headed to the range for the first time. What service! I ordered these new clubs on 7/17 and received them today, four working days. They look great. I'll let you know how they play.

It is interesting ... comparing them to the off-the-shelf set I've been using ... they are the length of the old 8-iron and the lie angle of the 6-iron. I suppose the fact my 7-iron was my favorite club makes sense. I'm a mathematician and trigonometry tells me I'll have to play these clubs a little closer to my body.

OK. I suspect I'm not the first to purchase these clubs when his game was in disarray. I've been playing for 30+ years and my game has been a roller-coaster ride. Lately, the coaster has been from shot-to-shot. The only club I could count on was the 7-iron, so this concept appealed to me.

The bad part is my swing was so messed up, I couldn't make contact with half swings during the first range session. But I pulled out the SW from my old set, the new clubs are 3-PW, and I couldn't hit it with a half swing, either.

Having just returned from my third range session, I'm excited again. Using the swing motion spelled out in the booklet which came with the clubs, I'm finding some real consistency. Using the same swing, I can now work my way thru the new clubs and its the first time in years I've been able to hit anything above a 6 iron.

Another range session tomorrow and then to the course on Saturday ...

Richard,

What's your W-T-F measurement?

Thanks

Jack
