Subject: Hope for high handicappers

To all of you high-handicappers who read this forum, I know it seems that the good players outnumber us hackers on here...so here's a small success story for those of you who typically post high numbers like me.

I've been playing 1Irons for almost three months with steady improvement. Yesterday, I did something that gave me a lot of encouragement. I was 190 yards from the cup, in the light cut of rough, about 40-50 yards from a set of trees. I grabbed a #5 iron thinking to myself, "I hope I can just get over these trees." I stroked the shot solidly, over the trees with a slight draw, over a greenside bunker, pin-high, to within 12 feet. If I could putt at all, I would have birdied the hole, but I was more than glad to take a par.

That is by far the best shot I've ever hit before, and I had a few other moments like that yesterday. Now I know how so many people so easily get addicted to this game. I'm glad I finally got the feeling of posing at the end of my follow-through while watching to ball fly exactly where it's supposed to fly.

So to all my fellow hackers, keep swinging!!

Trey
