Subject: single figure golfer anxious if this is the right move

I am a reasonable 6 hc ,playing once or twice a week for the last 8 yrs.I am 52 ,and on good days shoot below my hc,even getting level par rounds on a couple of occasions.On bad days I can shoot up to high 80's...how I hate those days !!! like everyone else I am looking for consistency....which is why Iam drawn to the 1 iron concept.I would love to hear from other single figure golfers who have taken the plunge into 1 iron golf clubs and how things worked out.The clubs themselves look a little 'clunky' and cheap, and the graphics don't look that slick... can anyone reassure me as to quality and looks ( important to me !! ) Many thanks

I'm an 11.2 and I've played them for 4 years. Clunky and cheap, slick graphics? Are you going to play golf with them or make love to them? Jeez. If you want quality and consistency try these clubs. If looks are that important, it's hard to believe your a 6.

I've owned Callaways, Pings, and TaylorMades and my 1 Irons are a much higher quality golf club than any of these. 1 Irons aren't designed to be flashy, even though they're sharp looking clubs, they're designed to perform which they do at the highest level. My handicap is 1.

Looks and feel are important to me too. I was able to demo these clubs before my purchase, and I was extremely impressed with the fit and finish. Simply put these clubs are outstanding in terms of quality. They are not "knock-off-ish". As has been said, they are high quality without being flashy -- and they work.

The graphics may be simple, but they are very well made clubs. Glitz does'nt make the golfer.

Well these other guys can sit here and say that you are to worried about the look, but you should be, when you see a club online and it looks like crap a.k.a. "the hammer" you get worried, its called being smart about your investments. These clubs are not cheap, but they are worth the money. I am a +1.5 handicap and I use the 1 iron clubs #5 through PW with the woods, is the set I got. It has taken me from a 3 hc to a +1.5 hc in about 9 months. I was pleased once I actually got them, but like you I was worried about $800 for a set of clubs that don't look like my Adams custom fit clubs I had bought 4 years ago. They are worth it though.
