If your hands are in the center of your stance and the ball is in the center of your stance then your hands are directly over the ball and there is no forward press. The only time you end up with a forward press is when your hands are in front of the ball at address, and many golfers exaggerate this position far too much. Do not confuse a forward press with placing the clubhead behind a ball that is sitting in a center of stance position.

I might also add that you do not want to get in a position of over-analysis as it is impossible, without a plumb-bob, to position your hands in any exact position in relation to the ball at address.

I just haven't been able to develop the consistency almost everyone else is able to gain so quickly. So I've gone back to the beginning and have reread the playing tips and 1 Iron Golf booklet (for about the 90th time), making sure I'm doing everything "by the book."

So if the club shaft is pointing down from the belly button, with no forward press or lean, am I correct in thinking that the shaft and arms form a Y shape, the club face is square to the target line, and the club shaft is more or less perpendicular to the target line? At impact, is the torso pointing at the ball?

It would be helpful for people like me if you had pictures of the 1 Iron golf swing as described in your tips and booklet. I think I'm following your instructions, but obviously I'm doing something wrong.

I also have some problems understaning the books explanation without the viewing. I am also experiencincing trouble with swing inside a barrel. Are others also I agree, David it would help to have pictures and they could be video or still shots. Thanks
