Subject: 1iron driver

I have recently got the full set of irons and the 3 wood. I have stuck to the playability tips and am starting to get the hang of it with the 3 iron. I like the 3 wood and hit it very well.
I have a conventional driver which is 12 degrees and fairly easy to hit but I am considering getting the 1iron driver because I like the idea of the same set up for all clubs in the bag.
I just think having a conventional club in my bag that I will hit 10 to 12 times a round at my home course gives me a chance to slip into a different set up than the rest of the clubs in my bag.
If the 1iron driver is as good as the 3 wood I would change.
I would like some opinions from other 1iron users.

Steve: Just last week I replaced my Cleveland Hi-Bore XL driver with the new 12* 1-Iron driver. It was the best investment I've ever made! I already own the 1-Iron irons and wedges, and the driver is just outstanding! For my WTF of 34.5", the 1-Iron driver is 43" long. My old Cleveland is 45.5" long and was good, but I was not consistent with it. The 1-Iron driver is perfectly balanced, easier to swing and hit, and much easier to control. I have gained probably 20 yards with it. I highly recommend it!

Steve, Mine was the first driver I ever hit over 250 yards. My pleasure with the driver got me to buy the irons. I hit the driver 310 yards on a level par 4 2 summers ago, longest of my life. I am now 250 consistantly. BTW I am 6 ft 225 and 60 years old. I also am 35 WTF. Hope it helps.

Great choices, Steve! I've found that you can play the ball back farther in your stance since the driver fits you better. I play mine in the middle, as suggested in the Playability tips and just like all the other irons and woods. It will serve you well! Have a great New Year! R2

I have found that most of the comments about lengths, when asked, are referred to this way and not to the actual length in inches based on WTF. Giving an actual inch measurement gives a better description then a conventional club length, which we know varies. What then is the actual driver length with a WTF measurement of 33"?

It would only confuse the average golfer to provide an actual club length measurement because extremely few golfers know how to properly measure club length.

Unless you have a golf club measuring tool with an adjustable head to accommodate any club-head lie angle then you can use the following instructions for a close approximation: Place the golf club in the address position with the scoring lines on the club-face exactly parallel to the ground and then measure directly alongside the shaft from the butt-end of the grip to the point where the shaft would intersect the ground if it protruded from the heel of the club-head.

For a 33"-33.9" W-T-F measurement our driver club length would be 42".

Got the driver and have hit it a couple of times at the range. Hits well and is a good looking product. The 1iron products are certainly great quality items.

I think this a very easy driver to hit and you get good length. I am looking forward to getting onto the course with it.
