Subject: Taking the plunge - how does the driver perform?

OK, I took the plunge and order the 3-AW set. Now I want to hear about how the driver fits into all this from players who have purchased the driver and used it. I currently have a Taylormade Burner that is a year or two old that is 46" long. I hit it good when I hit it good. lol

Jim: One week after I purchased my 1-Irons, I went ahead and bought the driver. Best decision I ever made !!! With my WTF of 34.5", my new driver is 43" long and simply a dream to hit. In your statement, you say,"I hit it good when I hit it good". Sounded just like me! I believe your Taylormade is probably too long for you and therefore, very difficult to accurately control. I was using a very nice Cleveland Hi-Bore XL with a 45.5" shaft. Man, I could really hit it, when I hit it! The rest of the time I was looking in the next fairway, in the trees, out in the field, you get the picture. With the new 1-Iron driver, I gained a tremendous amount of control and accuracy. And my distance has improved as I become more familiar with the driver and how to swing it correctly. Also, it is really nice to use the same ball position as all the rest of the 1-Irons. Middle-of-stance works just fine! Anyway, just some of my thoughts. Have a great day and hit em straight! R2

Hi, good purchase the irons play fantastic, take the whole 30 day and PLEASE follow the playability tips dont just go out and hit them and play, it took me 3 weeks before thing's kicked in.

The driver play's very well also, If you again follow the playability tips, Tried it for a while and never played better. For some reason I hit longer shafted drivers very well and never really had a problem with driving.

I play my OE Driver's fantastic strongest part of my game, Now with he 1irons I have a balanced game.

I gave my 1iron driver to a very good friend who could kill a 3 wood but not good with a driver, it was like magic for him, he pounds it 250 almost all the time, and he is about 30 longer than his standard 3 wood so the fit was perfect, Oh Buy the way he is 6'2" and the driver was for me at 5'7", imagine that.

It is worth trying and compare to what you have.
Good luck

The driver is good if you use the playability tips. The quality of the club is first class and is reasonably priced compared to others on the market.
I can hit it as far as my old driver which was the same loft.
