Ed: Measure your Wrist-to-Floor (WTF) measurement per the instructions on this site. That will give you a good idea of how long your driver should be. My WTF is 34.5" and my 1-Iron driver is 43" long. I had several students that used the R-11 driver and in EVERY case, their driver was simply too long for them. I took them to the range and had them wrap a rubber band around the top end of the grip, and had them start hitting shots and moving the rubber band down the grip until they found where they were most consistent with their drives (it's usually 1" to 2" down the shaft). Any good club fitter can take that amount off, regrip the club, and add lead tape to the head to compensate. They will also know where to place the tape to help offset any slices or hooks. I still have several old drivers that have all been cut down to about 43" and use them to show my students what a great improvement it makes to use a driver that is shorter than the off-the-shelf junk being made these days. The shorter driver is much more accurate, and hits just as long, than the 45" and 46" drivers out there today. Also, you may want to just use your 3-wood in place of your driver if you don't want to cut it down or get a new one. I've found that most golfers can hit it as long as their driver. Good luck and let us know how things go. R2
