Subject: Swing Speed

Was wondering if anyone has ever checked the average swing speed difference between 7 iron and 3 iron. Those who do not like the 1 iron idea seem to make a big deal of the loss in swing speed. My guess is it would be minimal. Just wanted to know if anyone has actually done the numbers.

Our testing of hundreds of golfers (including professional golfers) has shown that your highest swing speed with an iron is attained when you are hitting your favorite iron. Every time you switch to an incrementally longer or shorter iron your swing speed will decrease. The reason for this is that you have the greatest degree of confidence with your favorite iron (the only one in the bag that comes close to actually fitting you properly) and this high confidence level allows you to make your most fluid and powerful swing. Every time you move up or down one or two golf clubs (increasing or decreasing club length from your "favorite") your confidence level decreases and you will unconsciously slow down your swing in order to make good ball contact. This decrease in confidence level translates directly into the unconscious decrease in swing speed and applied power. Since a set of 1 Irons are custom built to fit you properly you will experience an overall increase in power as well as a decided increase in your control and accuracy. You will be as comfortable with your #3 and #4 iron as you are with your #9 iron or wedges and you will gain distance and accuracy with every club in your set over your old golf clubs.

I am very interested in buying a set of 1 irons. Before doing so I need to confirm something. Is the ball posiiton the same for all clubs, driver thru sw? Ball position being in the middle of the stance.

Also, do you include any instructional material with a purchase of clubs?

You play the ball in the center of your stance with every 1 Iron Golf club. You'll receive an email from 1 Iron Golf when you place your order that has their Playability Tips attached. These tips explain exactly how to play the clubs and gives you an initial practice routine to help you adjust to single-length play quickly. The email also includes a bunch of tips to help you develop a great swing.

I really liked my 1 Iron clubs from the day I got them. That is not to say things went perfect all this time. I hit them pretty good when I first tried them but then the devil tickled my ear with that length nonsense.
You know what I mean...It's harder to hit a 5 iron than a pitching wedge and stuff like that and you will never get any distance out of those shorter long irons. Sure. I knew it was not the truth but it has taken me a few months to get to the place where I just grab the club with the right number and swing away. I still carry my old Callaways in the van but I wouldn't dream of going back to using them for any reason.
My plan now is to spend the rest of my life wearing these clubs out. Sounds like a fun plan to me.

I'm 49 and suck at golf, but have a strong desire to play. I just need some encouragement that I would get with more consistent hitting. About 5 yrs ago I took lessons and just didn't get any better and I did put a lot of practice time in (maybe too much)
I love the concept of only having to learn one basic swing for most clubs.
Im saving now to buy some of these clubs and hopefully once I get them with some practice I will play
well enough to enjoy the game with my friends.
