Subject: Initial review

Here is my initial review of my 1-Iron golf clubs in relaton to delivery, condition and initial range visit.
1) Delivery to the UK - I ordered my clubs on the evening of the 21st october 2012 and received said clubs early afternoon on the 29th October 2012. Sent by Fedex and received with the packaging showing little evidence of its near 4000 mile journey
2) After unpacking the well packed clubs I was very pleased with their condition. I had ordered a used/demo set however each club was in first class condition and nay a mark on them. The only difference between the demo set and the new 3 wood was a little covering of heat-shrunk plastic on the 3 wood!
3) Today (31st October) I made it to the range for my first hit of the clubs and in accordance with the Playability Tips started to hit with the 8 iron. I found I could hit it with ease with quite a high trajectory and essentially straight plus a few overly-faded shots upto 30 yards off line with only one 80 yard mis-hit out of 35 balls. I had taken with me an 8i, 6i, PW and GW on this first visit. So I reached for the 6i and proceeded to hit the best 10 6i's I have ever hit with a trajectory more akin to my old 8 iron (Yonex c280 Cyberstar - Graphite reg). I did the same with my PW and then the GW which looks to have filled a hole for me on those 80 yard shots. All in all an excellent first visit to the range. I found that you need to 'stand tall' and not crouch over at all, this making for a much better strike. I think at this time I may be losing approximately 10 yards but getting much better accuracy and I am sure that the distance will return as I practice and find the best speed/tempo for me and the club to 'connect' fully.

As a background note to this feedback I am a 17 (17.2) handicapper and perhaps more importantly, and having read the forum messages and David's website extensively, I had already started playing the ball out of the middle of my stance and had even cut down my 21d and 24d rescue clubs to the equivalent of my 7i and found no loss of distance and much better striking. It was this that convinced me that the concept was worth buying into. With my WTF measurement the 1-Irons received are equivalent to my old 6 iron so there is still some physical changes to get used to but I'm sure these previous changes have helped facilitate through to the 1-Irons.

In short very pleased and looking forward to my next range visit tomorrow.
