We have the same specs. I can tell you that you must follow the process, and player tips. Don't rush it and just go out and play.

I am 47 and have never played better. Once you get used to the clubs you can play aggressive and they will shine.

I have never hit the driver so well in my life even when I was younger with a 45" driver. My longest drive was actually with my 1iron 3 wood but my average best drives are with the 1iron driver.

Don't bother asking what other players hit their 1iron clubs it differs base on strength and technique. I can you tell you most likely realize maximum distance within a very short period. Advice get yourself a good rangefinder as you practice to dial in your distances.

Enjoy the journey.

Thanks Pedro. I'm definitely willing to put in the time at the range but I probably will play with them pretty soon since I have a regular group that plays almost every morning. I wouldn't want to range the 1-rons then game my X-12's. I'm having a hard time seeing why there would be a 30-90 day adjustment period though. If every club will be the setup of my 8 iron then I just need to make my 8 iron swing right? I know that's easier to say than execute but if you are walking up with your money club then you should have a ton of confidence. Of course there will be the urge to hit the lower clubs a little harder and the higher clubs a little softer but it shouldn't take that long to adjust. Again, I'm not saying I will pure every shot after one range session but consistency should come fairly quickly. Am I being unrealistic?

I think your being ambitious but your golf mind is not ready to play on the course with them yet. Sure its possible it will just click, only took me 3 range sessions and 2 rounds and I was off.

Let us know what happens good luck.

[> [> [> Clubs arrived this evening and went to the range -- Randy, 20:05:22 12/06/12 Thu

I ordered my 3-LWUsed set on Friday and they were delivered today (Thursday evening). I am very impressed with the craftsmanship of these clubs just like everyone else has been. I was expecting them to be heavier though since I had read that on a few posts. These clubs fit like a glove though and I couldn't wait to use them so I went to the range as soon as they were unpacked. I topped the first two 8 iron shots then I remembered to stand a touch closer and I pured the next 6 or 7 out of 8. I couldn't resist the temptation and hit 10 balls with every club =D The results were fantastic! I've made great contact with my 3 iron before but never 4 shots in a row. A couple of duffs and a shank so I wasn't batting 1.000 but I am very impressed with the results. I have no idea exactly how far each one went since it was dark but I could tell from the ball flight that they had different distances. I noticed with my 5 iron the shots were a little low so I scooted in a little (old habits of standing further away) and they took of in the air with a beautiful trajectory. I can't wait for the sun to come up so I can hit the range again... and probably the par 3 course as well. I'm very interested in seeing how far these clubs go and the distance gap. I hate using the range to judge this (one) because range balls are one step up from rocks and (two) range dirt equals horrible lies and the best alternative is the mats. Onward!

*Update* I've played a couple of par 3 rounds and the good news is my haven't dropped at all. Usually when you do an equipment change you can expect a "growing pains" period and then you catch up and surpass your old equipment. My chipping has improved considerably though as the callaway X-12's aren't exactly the best clubs to chip with but the 1- irons have much less bounce and you can effectively chip with any club. I haven't hit the balls as solidly as I like but that will improve with some range time. I'll be out of the game until wednesday evening when finals are done and then I'll have a full month to dial my game in. I feel like the scores I'm shooting are just the beginning of the curve where as with my old clubs I felt consistently inconsistent and it would all depend on the day. The only negative I have found so far is the grips are great except in the rain. We had little rain shower today and the club would twist on impact and felt very slick. (I carry 2 gloves and switched them and they were still slick) I won't let one bad experience change my mind but if it happens again I'll be re-gripping them with my trust Lamkin's. All in all though I am very impressed with the clubs and I feel like I will definitely shave some strokes off my game in the next two weeks. By the way all of my golf buddies were watching closely and I have a feeling if my game goes the way I see it going then David might have a few more orders coming out of Texas.
