Author: Jim (Advice on L/H purchace)
Subject: L/H golf players

I have been using 1 iron irons for some time and would now never go back to any other clubs. I would like advice from other lefties on driver and fairway woods. My WTF is 35 inches. My driver is a ACER 14 degree and a 20 degree fairway wood. Shaft length is the key to getting the best out of these two clubs so any advice would be appreciated. PS.Won the GOLF CUP in club champs over four days for best net through all grades.Go 1 irons.

Jim: For your WTF, your driver should be 43"-43.5" and your fairway wood about 41.5"-42". One very easy way to find the "best" length for your long clubs is to put a rubber band on the very end of the grip and go to the practice range. Hit a few shots, then move the band 1/2" lower on the grip and hit a few more. Keep doing this until you find the spot where the club feels the best to you and produces the most consistent results. You can have the club cut to that length, re-gripped and re-weighted, or just leave the band in place and play it that way. Most of the clubs made today are simply too long, and cannot be hit with any consistency by the average golfer! Hopes this helps a little. Hit 'em straight! R2

Roy. Many thanks for your advice a couple weeks back.Rubber bands on the grips and a bit of practice to find the spot and I was down the fairway. Also,I had read your advice on putting that you had given to a fellow golfer. Got hold of a face on (R/H) OZ putter. Only had a weeks practice but GREAT RESULT. Monthly Medal final. R/U 89 gross 66 net 28 putts. Age 79. Again, my thanks to you. Regards. Jim.

Jim: Thank you and way to play!! Sounds like you are really coming along with your game. I really like the OZ putter - you'll get a few stares using it out on the course, but who cares if it takes a few strokes off your score and builds your putting ability! Take care and hit 'em straight! R2
